Brazil Argentina_Blind_Football_Athen_2004_May_10_May 10 - Brazil and Argentina's five-a-side blind football teams will meet this week in a pre-London 2012 match between the South American heavyweights.


They will face off in three at the Estádio do Morumbi, home of the Brazilian team São Paulo.

"This year the Paralympics are extremely important for Brazil," said the Brazil's National Sports Coordinator José Antônio Freire.

"Argentina has quality football and a tradition.

"We are less than four months away from the Paralympics Games and this challenge will be important to evaluate them and our football."

Brazil won the gold medal at the last Paralympic Games in Beijing, with Argentina taking bronze.

The two also met in the final of the 2004 Games in Athens (pictured above), with Brazil coming out on top on that occassion too.

This summer's Paralympic five-a-side football tournament will be played at the Riverbank Arena on the Olympic Park from August 31 to September 8.
