The tournament will run from November 12 to 17, and will be organised by Serbia's Paralympic Committee.

The championships features the second tier of nations in ice sledge hockey, and the action will take place at the Sports and Business Centre Vojvodina.

The championships have been held twice previously, with Estonia (pictured below) winning the last tournament in 2009.

The two top teams at the World Championships will be able to qualify for next year's A Pool World Championships in Goyang City, South Korea.

IPC chief executive Xavier Gonzalez said: "After a successful A Pool World Championships in Norway in April earlier this year, we are very excited to have Serbia host the B Pool World Championships and help ice sledge hockey's next tier of teams develop and rise to the top of the sport."


Novi Sad is Serbia's second largest city, with a population of 300,000, and the arena can host up to 3,000 spectators.

The Business Centre has also hosted table tennis and basketball previously.

Bojan Jacimovic, secretary general of Serbia's National Paralympic Committee, said: "This competition is very important for the development of winter Paralympic sports in Serbia.

"I believe that Novi Sad is going to be a great host because it fulfils all conditions for hosting a competition of these proportions, and I also think that we have a more than capable staff for handling this competition."
