Drew GinnDecember 8 - Drew Ginn, the triple Olympic rowing champion who was one of the "Oarsome Foursome" gold medallists at the 1996 Atlanta Games has been appointed as one of two head coaches of Australian rowing in a shake-up ahead of the 2016 Rio Olympics, Rowing Australia has announced.

The position was set up in a general restructuring of Rowing Australia's high performance programme after this year's London 2012 Games and the announcement of Chris O'Brien as high performance director in August.

It is one of two new national head coach positions, with the second appointment to follow.

In his role Ginn will be responsible for national training and will provide technical leadership in all Australian performance rowing programmes.

Ginn, who won a silver medal in the men's four at this year's Olympics, has been a member of Australia's national rowing teams since 1994.

After winning his first Olympic Games title in 1996 Ginn went on to win five world championships in addition to his three Olympic golds and one Olympic silver.

Australia finished ninth in the rowing medals table at the London 2012 Games, with three silver medals and two bronze.
