SenegalDecember 9 - A Paralympic workshop hosted in the Senegalese capital Dakar has drawn to a close this weekend after attracting participants from 17 African countries.

The five-day workshop included Paralympic administration lessons along with coaching and officials courses, with a total of 18 officials, 20 administrators and 26 coaches in attendance.

The project was organised by Senegal's National Paralympic Committee along with event company JAPPO, and was co-funded by CONFEJES (Conférence des Ministres de la Jeunesse et des Sports de la Francophonie) and France's National Paralympic Committee.

The workshop comes after Senegal had one competitor at the London 2012 Paralympics in the form of Mor Ndiaye.

Ndiaye completed in the F57-58 men's javelin throw at the Olympic Stadium in Stratford where he finished in 11th position.

His performance comes after Senegal made its Paralympic Games debut at Athens 2004 when it was represented by two athletes, and the nation sent two athletes to Beijing 2008.

However, Senegal is yet to win a Paralympic medal and no athlete from the country has appeared at a Winter Paralympics to date.
