WeirwolfJanuary 25 - The Virgin London Marathon have presented Dave Weir with a bespoke race helmet featuring a werewolf design to celebrate his stunning feat at the London 2012 Paralympics that saw him win four gold medals.

He was therefore presented with the bespoke werewolf race helmet by at the London Marathon media lunch by race director Hugh Brasher, who admitted he is looking forward to seeing Weir go for a record seventh win in this year's race.

"We are delighted to present this helmet to David," said Brasher.

"He won the Mini London Marathon seven times in his youth and his six wins in the London Marathon currently make him equal with Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson as the greatest wheelchair racer that London has ever seen.

"His exploits in the London 2012 Olympics helped to ignite the national interest in Paralympic sport and we hope this fitting tribute will further inspire him to a seventh win when he returns to the Virgin London Marathon on Sunday, April 21."
