134164196February 24 - China completed another clean-sweep of titles at the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) 2013 World Tour Qatar Open in Doha.

World number two Ma Long took the men's singles, defeating world number one Xu Xin on the way, and world champion Ding Ning winning the women's singles after losing at the semi-final stage of the Kuwait Open last week.

Ma, who was defeated by his doubles partner, world and Olympic Champion Zhang Jike, in the final of the Kuwait Open last week, came back from a 3-2 deficit to defeat 20-year-old compatriot Yan An 11-9, 11-3, 10-12, 10-12, 9-11, 11-6, 11-9.

"I was tired in the seventh set, I think both of us were tired, but hard training helped a lot," Ma Long said following his win in the final.

"I am very happy and I will be back here next year for sure,"

London 2012 singles gold medallist Ding overcame her shock defeat to Singaporean Feng Tianwei in Kuwait to crush eventual winner of last week's tournament, fellow Chinese player Liu Shiwen, by four games to one in the final, winning 11-5, 11-13, 11-8, 11-5, 11-7.

Ma was denied a double title-winning weekend as partner Zhang Jike was forced to withdraw after he picked up a back injury in his quarter-final match, which gave Yan and partner Wang Hao a walkover to take the men's doubles crown.

There was a surprise in the women's doubles as German pair Zhenqi Barthel and Shan Xiaona became the only non-Chinese competitors to reach a final in any senior category at this year's tournament, defeating Chinese pair Liu and Zhu Yuling by three games to zero.

However, they were defeated in the final as Ding secured her second title of the weekend with partner Li Xiaoxia, as they put in a formidable performance to win by three sets to one in the final- 11-8, 9-11, 11-7, 11-9.
