Marie Amelie le furJune 19 - France have named a record number of 33 athletes and four guides to represent them at next month's International Paralympic Commitee (IPC) World Championships on home turf in Lyon, including reigning women's Paralympic and world T44 100 metres champion Marie-Amelie Le Fur.

Le Fur will face up against her old rival, "Blade Babe" Marlou Van Rhijn, in the T44 100m once again, and will also defend her world 200m title, as well as competing in the 400m and the F/T44 long jump, and reigning 100m T37 Paralympic Champion Mandy Francois-Elie will also compete in Lyon in both 100m and 200m events. 

On the men's side, London 2012 and Beijing 2008 T54 5,000m bronze medallist Julien Casoli is included in the squad, and will take part in the T54 800m, 1,500m, 5,000m events, as well as the marathon, which will be missing reigning world champion Kurt Fearnley of Australia and Paralympic champion David Weir of Great Britain.

On the field, Paralympic silver medallist Tony Falelavaki will compete in the javelin F44, and two-time F46 long jump world champion Arnoud Assoumani is also included in the squad, and will compete in both the long jump and the 100m events.

Five athletes included in the squad will make their debuts for the French team in Lyon, and will be looking to help their team to improve on the eight gold, four silver and four bronze medals they won two years ago in Christchurch.
