August 20 - Windhoek, Namibia's capital city, will host the Namibia will host WSF World Junior Squash Championships in 2014World Squash Federation (WSF) 2014 World Junior Squash Championships, it has been announced.

This will be the first time a squash World Championship event at any level will be held in the southern African country, and the third time that a World Championships will be staged in an African country following Egypt, which hosted the 2008 women's Team Championships and South Africa in 1973 which staged the men's Team Championships.

The event, which is due to take place between August 10 and 21, incorporates the men's and women's World Junior Individual Championships, as well as the men's World Junior Team Championships, which are set to take place at the Wanderer's Squash Club and a new multi-sport complex scheduled for completion early next year.

"For our World Junior Championships to be awarded to Namibia next year after Qatar in 2012 and Poland this year illustrates further the breadth of enthusiasm for squash - something of which we are very proud," said WSF President N Ramachandran.

"I have no doubt that the Championships in Windhoek will be a resounding success."

Sivute Katamba, chief administrator of the Namibian Sport Commission said: "We are excited to be part of the process to bring such a major international event to Namibia."
