Cadmin Crouse has been suspended for two years after testing positive for banned drugsSeptember 23 - Camdin Crouse, a triple silver medallist at the US Paralympics Track and Field National Championships earlier this year, has been suspended for two years after testing positive for banned performance-enhancing drugs, it has been announced.

Crouse, a former American footballer, had only started competing seriously in Para-sport competition this year following an accident in May 2012 which saw him have his left amputated following a motor accident.

More than $100,000 (£62,000/€73,000) in donations had been raised to help him with his medical treatment, including buying a new leg.

The 25-year-old, a graduate of Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, won silver medals in the shot put, discus and javelin at the US Championships but will now be stripped of them after testing positive at the event for amphetamine and methylhexaneamine, a dietary supplement, during the event in San Antonio in June.

His ban started on August 8, the Untied States Anti-Doping Agency announced.
