Claudio Morresi closed the 2013 Parapan American Youth GamesOctober 19 - Brazil topped the Parapan American Youth Games medal table as the event came to a close with a ceremony at the Plaza Seca National Centre for High Performance Sports (CENARD) in Buenos Aires today.

Brazil - which will host the tournament in 2017 - triumphed with 209 medals overall, including 102 golds, while all but one of the 16 participating nations won at least one medal thanks to the 600 athletes competing across 10 sports.

"I ask you to give a round of applause to all who made these Games," Claudio Morresi, Argentina Sports Secretary, said at the Closing Ceremony.

"Sport is a wonderful bridge that unites our people and gives them the chance to develop and be happy.

"All of you own an invisible medal nobody will be able to remove: the effort you have made to get here.

"You will now return to your countries with the responsibility to continue working for more and more athletes like you, to improve their quality of life through physical activity."
