The Barclays ATP World Tour Finals saw a record number of fans tune in on-site, online and on their TV screensNovember 12 -  A record number of fans tuned in online and on television to watch the ATP World Tour Finals at the O2 Arena in London as early figures pointed to another highly successful year for the season ending tournament.


This year's event was televised by 54 broadcasters from 193 territories worldwide and received more than 13 million visitors to its digital platforms, which centred on a new tournament website, an increase of nine per cent on last year.

Mobile traffic was also up by over 100 per cent on 2012, whilst more than half a million people watched Holding Court Live presented by Barclays, the live 90-minute video show, streamed twice-daily from the Fan Zone at The O2.

Live match streaming was also up 20 per cent on last year with the Association of Tennis Professionals' (ATP) official streaming website, TennisTV.com, receiving more than 4.5 million streams.

In addition to these promising figures online and on television, the ATP World Tour Finals also fathomed great interest on-site.

A capacity crowd of 17,800 people travelled to the O2 last night to witness defending champion Novak Djokovic defeat world number one Rafael Nadal for the title and a record $1.92 (£1.2/€1.43) million in prize money.

This sell out crowd, along with nine other sell out sessions, saw the overall attendance across the eight days of play reach 261,247, the second successive year it has exceeded 260,000.

That figure puts the overall attendance for the tournament, since its move to London in 2009, at over 1.2 million.

"The Barclays ATP World Tour Finals at The O2 have been another terrific success," said Andre Silva, tournament director of the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals

"We're always looking for ways to grow the event and to give fans greater opportunities to engage with our tournament on-site, online and on television.

"We're thrilled with the response that we've had and we're very grateful for the support that the tournament has had from fans all over the world."

The Barclays ATP World tours Finals will be held at the O2 Arena in London until at least 2015.
