The trio received the accolades from the Superior Sports Council after each won at least one gold medal at last year's showpiece event in Sofia to ensure that Spain sat in second place on the medals table, after gymnastics powerhouse China.

Moreno and Parejo, who also won gold at the 2008 edition in Ulm, Germany,- secured the individual titles in their respective categories, while Li and Moreno tied with Romania for the mixed pair gold.

The results also followed an impressive year for Parejo, who took European gold at the continental championships in Bucharest in 2011, while in 2013 he secured a further gold in the 2013 World Games in Cali.
