The WheelBlacks secured their spot after an impressive showing at the Asia Oceania Championships last month which saw them defeat hosts South Africa in the bronze medal match in Pretoria.

Finland and France were assigned the other two wild card spots as they sit 11th and 12th in the world rankings list following solid performances at the European Championships in Antwerp this year.

These teams will be joined by hosts Denmark and London 2012 champions Australia, the first team to secure their spot in Odense.

The Australians went on to add the Asia Oceania Championship to their collection, defeating Japan in the final, who also qualify as a result of their performance in Pretoria.

Sweden head the European challenge after retaining this year's continental crown in Antwerp where they squeezed passed the Danes by a single point while Britain will also be considered a threat after their performance at London 2012 where they finished as the highest placed European nation in fifth spot.

The line-up is completed by two of the powerhouses of the sport as triple Paralympic champions and four-time world champions the United States join 2002 world champions Canada in representing the challenge from the Americas zone.

James Gumbert's US side secured their third consecutive Americas Championship title with victory over their neighbours in the final at the Lakeshore Foundation in Birmingham, Alabama, back in October.

That win complimented further victories in Sydney at the Tri-Nations Tournament and earlier in the year when the US returned to the number one spot in the world after they took the Wheelchair Rugby Challenge title in Odense with a win over Australia.

The 2014 World Championships in Odense, due to run from August 1 to 10 next year, will be the second time the Championships will have visited Scandinavia following Gothenburg's hosting of the event in 2002.
