One month to go until the 2014 SportAccord International Convention ©SportAccord ConventionMarch 6 - In one month, Turkey will become the hotspot for the global sporting community as thousands of delegates gather in Belek/Antalya for the 12th edition of the SportAccord International Convention.

The Convention has already attracted more than 1,500 delegates from 800 organisations, with the six-day event expected to sell-out for a seventh consecutive year.

With preparations for the event now in full swing, the SportAccord Convention team has been catching up with those who have already booked their place, to ask them what the big attraction is to the annual event.

"It is THE place where I can meet many of my stakeholders, promote our event, and meet potential business partners," said Hanna Domagala, deputy director of The World Games 2017 Wrocław.

"Not many events offer this much in such a well-organised and pleasant way."

Patrick Vajda, Managing Director at Marsh Inc, added: "In four days we are able to meet more people than in one year travelling all over the world."

The SportAccord International Convention will welcome representatives from more than 100 International Sports Federations and organisations affiliated with SportAccord, the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF), the Association of Winter Olympic International Federations (AIOWF), Association of Recognised IOC Sports Federations (ARISF) and Alliance of Independent Members of SportAccord (AIMS).

With these, and a host of businesses, Organising Committees and rights holders, the Convention gives unrivalled opportunity to gather in an exclusive networking environment, to build relationships, expand horizons and broaden sport's collective endeavours.

"Although we're looking forward to joining those we act for, we're also excited about the prospect of making new friends and finding out the areas in which we can help each other and work together," said Warren Phelops, Global Head of Sports at K&L Gates.

In celebration of the "one month to go" mark, the SportAccord Convention organisers are providing an opportunity to play in the 2014 SportAccord Convention golf tournament, at the Cornelia Diamond Golf Resort, for free.

The tournament is just one of a host of social and cultural activities planned for the Convention, which will take place from April 6 to 11 at the Susesi Convention Centre in Belek.
