April 30 - The ISAF Youth Match Racing World Championships will be held in Poland next year ©ISAFThe international Sailing Federation (ISAF) has announced that Swinoujscie, Poland will host the 2015 Youth Match Racing World Championships.

Located in the north-west of Poland, Swinoujscie was chosen by the ISAF Match Racing Committee ahead of the only other bidder Kreuzlingen, situated near Lake Constance in Switzerland.

"Swinoujscie has an excellent record of hosting ISAF Graded match racing regattas in recent times," said ISAF competitions manager, Jon Napier.

"With a superb fleet of TOM28 boats the race action on the Baltic Sea will be of exceptional quality with the world's best young match racers going head to head.

"With good wind conditions and excellent experience of hosting top international events the second edition of the ISAF Youth Match Racing Worlds will be a memorable experience for competitors and officials."

The Youth Match Racing World Championships, which were ratified at the 2012 ISAF Annual Conference  in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland provide talented young sailors with the opportunity to compete in high-level match racing before making the step up to senior level.

This year will see Helsinki in Finland hosting the inaugural Championships which are scheduled to take place from July 23 to 27.

The event is open to competitors aged under 23 as of December 31 2014.
