Pascoe demolished the field in the 2.4mR event, recording five wins, a second, third and sixth to retain her crown from last year.

The Briton held such a large lead over the rest of the field that she did not even compete in the final race, leaving the rest of the sailors to battle for the remaining podium places.

"It's my fourth medal of the year," Pascoe said.

"Retaining my title at Medemblik is really nice.

"It's an amazing place and I seem to really like it.

"I always go practising at Frensham Pond before I come here, to get used to the shifts.

"So I am really excited about this."

The Netherlands' Barend Kol and world champion Guus Bijlard finished the regatta second and third respectively.

A close battle in the SKUD 18 event saw Britain's five-time world champions Rickham and Birrell get the better of Italian pairing Marco Gualandris and Paola Bergamaschi

The contest went right down to the last race with each pair coming into the final showdown joint on 15 points apiece.

An impressive win in this race ensure the Britons sealed victory however as they continue their unbeaten streak since the London 2012 Paralympic Game, where they finished in the bronze medal place.

"Megan smashed the 2.4s, but we had to fight a little bit harder for ours," Birrell said.

"It's really good to see the European fleet really developing, with the Italians, the Dutch and the Spanish.

"All the boats are flying round and going a lot quicker than a few years ago."

The Dutch duo of Vera Voorbach and Jan Rein van Essenveld completed the podium as they finished in third.

Britain was denied the clean sweep as the French crew of Bruno Jourdren, Eric Flageul and Nicolas Vimont-Vicary won the sonar event ahead of John Robertson, Hannah Stodel and Steve Thomas.

A close fought podium battle saw the Australian trio of Colin Harrison, Jon Harris Russel Boaden finish in third, just two points behind the Britons.
