The Maltese Olympic Committee (MOC) revealed the three all resigned last month citing personal reasons.

The MOC have now authorised secretary general Joseph Cassar to call a general meeting with the objective of electing a new Executive Committee and Council for the Association.

The mass resignation was as a result of an internal dispute within the organisation, according to Tom Dielen, secretary general of international governing body World Archery.

"I am aware of the matter but this is basically a national matter," Dielen told insidethegames.

"What has happened as far we know is that some members have asked for an Extraordinary General Assembly which was refused by the Executive Committee.

"Then a second request was made with the clear intention of proposing a vote of no confidence and then the Committee resigned.

"Together with the Olympic Committee we await the outcome of the Assembly."

Fresh elections to form a new Executive Committee for the Archery Association of Malta are now scheduled to be held at the MOC headquarters at the University Sports Complex in Gzira on September 10.

Elections will be held for the posts of President, secretary, treasurer, membership secretary, public relations officer, scores and records officer and range manager.

Nominations for the positions must be submitted to MOC premises by tomorrow.
