SunsetVine APP will produce coverage of the 2014 ISAF Sailing World Championships ©Getty ImagesBritish media firm Sunset+Vine|APP has been appointed as the media production partner for the upcoming International Sailing Federation (ISAF) Sailing World Championships in Santander, Spain.

The Oxford-based arm of the media company Sunset+Vine will produce live coverage and daily news bulletins of the Championships which are due get underway on Friday (September 12) and continue through until September 21.

More than 1,250 sailors will be taking part in ten Olympic classes which will see 50 per cent of places for Rio 2016 decided, as well as the battle for World Championship medals.

Sunset+Vine International is responsible for the international television distribution rights of the event with coverage being provided by ESPN in the United States, the BBC in the United Kingdom and OSN and beIN in France, amongst 20 international broadcasters, according to the ISAF.

Sunset+Vine|APP has a strong pedigree in sailing and is already the production partner for the forthcoming Volvo Ocean Race 2014-2015 and was chosen by the BBC to assist in production of sailing events at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

"ISAF is delighted to be working with Sunset+Vine|APP on the ISAF Sailing World Championships," said ISAF vice-president Gary Jobson.

"They have a proven track record in the production of sailing events and their distribution team have done an outstanding job in securing commitment from broadcasters around the world.

"We look forward to welcoming many of those broadcasters to Santander and showing the world the very best of Olympic class sailing."

Sunset+Vine was a host broadcaster for this year's Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and is the primary production partner of BT Sport's coverage of the English Premier League and rugby's Aviva Premiership.

The firm was also part of Channel 4's awarding coverage of the London 2012 Paralympic Games picking up a British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) prize for "Best Sport and Live Event".
