Having taken place at the Khalifa International Bowling Centre in Abu Dhabi this year, the World Men's Championships head to Hong Kong in 2018 ©World BowlingThe World Tenpin Bowling Association Executive Board has announced the host cities for the World Bowling championship events from 2017 to 2020.

Hong Kong has been awarded the 2018 World Men's Bowling Championships, a decision taken following the conclusion of this year's event in Abu Dhabi on Sunday (December 14). 

The 2019 World Women's Championships will be staged in South Point, Las Vegas, while the 2017 World Championships, at which both men and women compete, head to Kuwait City.

The 2017 and 2019 World Senior's Championships will be held in Munich and South Point respectively.

The 2018 World Youth Championships will take place in Detroit with the 2020 World Single's Championships being showcased in Tokyo, host of the Olympics and Paralympics that year.  

"We are thrilled to see such a diverse range of cities interested in hosting our Championship events," said Kevin Dornberger, President of World Bowling.

"We are pleased that we could accommodate for all the bidding cities and I believe this reflects on the global reach of our sport."
