Mongolia’s National Olympic Committee (MNOC) has held a ceremony in the country to mark Olympic Day.

As many as 125 children took part in the event, which was organised in cooperation with the Mongolian Cycling Federation and Mongolian Roller Skating Federation.

Six different age groups competed in cycling and roller skating races, with the winners being awarded MNOC medals and International Olympic Committee (IOC) endorsed certificates.

MNOC President Demchigjav Zagdsuren was among those in attendance at the celebrations along with MNOC Executive Board members, National Sports Federation and Olympic Partner representatives, and veteran Olympians.

Olympic Day is a global celebration of the founding of the IOC and the modern Olympic Movement by Pierre de Coubertin in 1894.

Held annually today on June 23, Olympic Day is celebrated by millions of people in more than 160 countries.

Its mission is to promote the Olympic values - excellence, friendship and respect - and the three Olympic Day pillars - move, learn and discover - in every corner of the globe.
