Tashkent and Jakarta, the respective capitals of Uzbekistan and Indonesia, will play host to two Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and Olympic Solidarity Regional Forums later this year, where preparations for next year's Games in Rio de Janeiro will be among items on the agenda.

The Forum for National Olympic Committees from West Asia, Central Asia and South Asia will be held in Tashkent on November 24 and 25.

An equivalent event for NOCs from East Asia and Southeast Asia will then take place in Jakarta later in the month on November 28 and 29.

As well as an update on Rio 2016, other items expected to be on the agenda include issues related to the Court of Arbitration for Sport and a presentation from organisers of next year's fifth edition of the Asian Beach Games scheduled for Danang in Vietnam.

The announcement comes shortly before the OCA General Assembly in Ashgabat on September 16, where a host city for the 2022 or 2023 Asian Games could be selected.

While the Regional Forum is an opportunity for Tashkent to showcase itself as a sporting host following a visit from International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach to Uzbekistan earlier this year, Jakarta is increasingly emerging as a major continental player.

The city is already due to host the next edition of the Asian Games in 2018, and is also likely to step in and host the 2017 Asian Youth Games after they were stripped from Sri Lanka in May, with this another decision expected to be made at the General Assembly.
