A group of 30 to 35 students from around the world will participate in an Executive Masters in Sports Organisation Management module organised by the Botswana National Olympic Committee (BNOC) in 2017, it has been announced.

The course is now in its 20th edition and consists of modules taking place in a variety of different locations.

Known as MEMOM, the programme is offered in English, French and Spanish, with a mission to "help professionals working in national or international sports bodies to develop the knowledge required to better manage their organisations".

Endorsed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and supported financially from Olympic Solidarity, two of the four modules for each class are due to take place at the IOC headquarters in Lausanne.

Having one of the other modules in Botswana will enable the southern African nation to welcome industry leaders from around the world.

Not only will they experience offerings of the country, it is hoped, but they will build on its reputation as "a preferred destination in the global sporting arena".

Other African nations to have hosted MEMOS modules include Rwanda and Kenya, who hosted one in Nairobi in 2011.

Other participants include Botswana Judo Federation secretary general Dorothy Tlagae and former Botswana Volleyball Federation Executive Committee member Sesupo Mosweu.

BNOC manager of Sport Development & Team Services Tapiwa Marobela is also expected to complete her studies in May 2016.

Full information on exactly when and where the course will take place, or where other modules will be held in 2017, has not yet been revealed.
