Free-to-air broadcaster France Télévisions has been awarded the television rights for both the men's Davis Cup and the women's Fed Cup tournaments.

The full rights to both events are held by Qatar company BeIN Sports, but the French pay-TV operator was required to find a free-to-air partner as the semi-finals and final of the Davis Cup are protected for public viewing by French law.

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has approved the sublicensing arrangement, which will see France Télévisions show Saturday and Sunday matches throughout the season, with BeIN retaining the rights to the matches on Friday.

The four-year deal is due to start with France’s Fed Cup tie against Italy in Marseille on February 6 and 7 and the men's team's Davis Cup clash against Canada in March.
