Barfoot & Thompson, New Zealand's largest privately owned, non-franchised company of its type, is said to have a long history of partnering with high-profile sporting events across rugby, triathlon and other international multi-sport events.

It was a naming rights partner to the International Triathlon Union (ITU) World Series event in Auckland, which has been removed off this year's calendar, and remains a supporter of several rugby bodies, including Auckland Rugby.

Building on the company’s commitment, Barfoot & Thompson has launched a new campaign offering home sellers an opportunity to cheer on New Zealand’s athletes at Rio 2016.

Those who have listed their home with Barfoot & Thompson on or after January 1, 2016, and have sold unconditionally by May 31, will be in the draw to win a week-long trip to Rio de Janerio in August.

The prize includes return airfares, transfers, 4.5 star accommodation and an exclusive "Meet an Olympian" experience.

The winner will also receive two tickets for the Rio 2016 Opening Ceremony as well as the rowing, women’s rugby sevens and equestrian eventing competitions among others.

In August of last year, the NZOC launched a "Rio 2016 Be the Inspiration campaign" to coincide with One Year To Go celebrations until the Olympic Games. 

Billed as a "powerful representation of the athletes' journey from New Zealand to the Olympic Games in Rio", the campaign is centred around an online digital hub. 

As well as featuring words of inspiration and messages of good luck from New Zealanders both at home and overseas, the hub also showcases rare footage and video clips of some of the country's best Olympic successes throughout history.

New Zealand are seeking to improve on their 15th place finish at London 2012, where they won six golds in a 13-medal haul.
