Counter-Strike Global Offensive (CS:GO) will feature as an official game for the first time at an International e-Sports Federation (IeSF) World Championships during this year's edition in Jakarta, it has been announced.

CS:GO, considered particularly popular in Indonesia, will feature alongside League of Legends and Hearthstone.

This follows the completion of negotiations between the IeSF and the respected game developers - Riot Games, Valve Corporation and Blizzard Entertainment - they confirmed in a statement tdoay.

All people will be able to participate regardless of gender, age or disabilities.

League of Legends was previously the official title for the 7th e-Sports World Championship in Seoul last year, where only amateur players were able to compete.

Hearthstone has again been selected as an official title for the third consecutive year following its debut in Baku in 2014.

Action is due to take place in Jakarta's Ancol Beach Auditorium from October 6 to 9.

There will be a total prize pool of $54,000 (£37,000/€48,000).

It is billed as the only e-sport competition based on nationality.

A total of 180 participants spanning 33 countries were present in Seoul, where Serbia was the overall champion.

This comes as the sport is gaining an increased presence on the international stage, with it hoping to feature at the inaugural Association of National Olympic Committees World Beach Games in San Diego.
