Both Norway’s men's and women's relay teams did enough to secure wins at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Cross-Country World Cup event in La Clusaz today.

Finn Haagen Krogh, who won the 15 kilometre free technique race yesterday, had to work hard as he anchored the final leg of the men’s 4x7.5km race as Russia’s Sergey Ustiugov challenged him towards the end.

In the end though, Krogh held off the charge to get over the line 0.2 seconds ahead of Ustiugov at the French venue.

Completing the podium in front of a home crowd were France, getting their first medal in the World Cup since 2008, also at the same resort.

Norway’s women had a more comfortable day as they finished 50.2sec ahead of the field.

Their performance was so comprehensive, Heidi Weng, who won yesterday’s 10km free technique race, was able to high five spectators along the home straight.

Finland came second while Sweden finished a further 18.7sec behind in third.

The next World Cup event will be the Tour de Ski, which starts in Val Mustair, Switzerland, on December 31.
