The 24-year-old, who studies at Jugra State University, defeated Oskar Kwiatkowski of Poland in the men's big final this afternoon by 3.63 seconds.

Oleksandr Belinskyy of Ukraine took bronze after defeating Russia's Vladislav Khuramshin in the small final by a narrow margin of 1.19 seconds.

Boddanov now has two gold medals after he won the giant slalom event yesterday, defeating compatriot Vladislav Shkurikhin in the big final.

Having qualified fastest, the 24-year-old went on to defeat Canada’s Andrew Hildebrand in the last 16, Poland’s Oskar Kwiatkowski in the quarter-finals and Ukraine’s Oleksandr Belinskyy in the penultimate round.

It set up a showdown with Shkurikhin, who fell short at the final hurdle and had to settle for silver.

Much of the talk before today's women's competition was centered around Poland's Aleksandra Krol, who won the women's parallel giant slalom gold yesterday.

Krol was unable to reproduce the same form, however, as she lost to Maggie Carrigan of the United States in the quarter-final.

Carrigan then moved into the big final but lost to Poland's Weronika Biela who would claim the gold medal. 

Biel defeated the American, who took silver, by 10.66 seconds.

Karolina Sztokfisz completed an impressive day for Poland as she took bronze.

Sztokfisz, who studies at the University of Warsaw, overcame Candian Jennifer Hawkrigg in the small final.
