Zvejnieks, who represented his country at both the Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics, won the super-G in 1 min 07.39sec and posted the second-fastest time of 54.81 in the slalom to triumph in 2:02.20.

The Netherlands’ Maarten Meiners came from 10^th place after the super-G to take second overall in 2:03.08, while Slovakia's Matej Falat repeated his bronze medal-winning performance from two years ago in 2:03.21.

Russia’s Evgenij Pyasik came second in the super-G, but ended up seventh in the final reckoning after finishing 16th in the slalom.

Just above him was Italy’s Michelangelo Tentori, who fell to sixth place despite finding himself in third going into the slalom.

The women’s Alpine combined event also concluded today following the postponement of yesterday’s super-G due to heavy snow.

Having come second in the slalom, Russia's Anastasiia Silanteva posted the second-fastest super-G run of 1:10.70 for an overall winning time of 2:08.24.

Belarus’ Maria Shkanova topped the slalom standings, but could only manage the 14^th-best super-G time of 1:13.24 and had to settle for the runners-up spot in 2:10.02.

Completing the podium was Slovakia's Barbara Kantorova with an overall time of 2:10.35.

Japan’s Asa Ando’s super-G time of 1:10.64 was the fastest and it was an eighth-place finish in the slalom that ultimately proved costly for her.

Alpine skiing action is due to resume on Friday (February 3) with the women’s giant slalom competition.
