Getty Images have agreed a new deal with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) which will see them take photographs at events through to 2020.

It means the company will be the official photographic agency at the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Paralympics and 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games.

They will also be used during other major Para-sport events with the deal continuing a partnership which started before the 2004 Paralympics in Athens.

"We are delighted and honoured to renew our long-standing partnership with the IPC through the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo," said Eugene Cariaga, senior director at Getty.

"Powerful imagery that tells a story has been more important for engaging audiences and Getty Images considers it a privilege to show Paralympic athletes at their best."

Craig Spence, the IPC’s media and communications director, said the Committee were "delighted" to agree a new deal with the agency.

"Since we first started this partnership in 2004, Getty Images have played a major part in showing the world what Para- sport is all about and what athletes with an impairment are capable of doing by supplying their images to media organisations around the world," he said.
