Para Nordic skiing race director Len Apedaile has visited the Alpensia Biathlon Centre to check on preparations for next month's Pyeongchang 2018 test event here.

Apedaile’s visit coincided with the International Ski Federation (FIS) Cross-Country Skiing World Cup, giving the official the opportunity to examine operations in action.

The World Cup took place from February 3 to 5.

During his visit, Apedaile, who will be the race director for next year’s Paralympic Games, offered his assistance with the final planning details of next month’s test event.

This included reviewing the course preparations, snow quality management and plans for track setting.

He also worked with organisers to review their stadium layouts.

The official claimed the courses are mostly complete for standing and visually impaired skiers, with grooming now taking place.

Snow making and grooming of the sit ski courses are still taking place at the venue.

The test event will also double as a competition on the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) World Para Nordic Skiing World Cup circuit.

It will offer athletes the opportunity to test themselves on the Paralympic courses, a matter of weeks after the World Championships.

Competition is due to take place in Pyeongchang from March 10 to 15.

The World Championships have already got underway in Finsterau, with competition at the German venue taking place until February 19.
