Attendees at the seminar in the South Korean resort were given a tour of the International Broadcast Centre in Alpensia, which organisers claim is "nearing completion".

They also toured venues at the Yongpyong Alpine cluster and the Gangneung coastal cluster, where they viewed the Gangneung Hockey Centre and Ice Arena.

Delegates then inspected the Media Village and Olympic Plaza, the host of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

The event organised by Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) in conjunction with Pyeongchang 2018.

The aim was to allow media representatives to see the broadcasting set-up and layouts to assist with planning their respective coverage of next year's Games, the first edition of the Winter Olympics and Paralympics to ever be held in South Korea.

Presentations on a range of technical and operational areas were given today at the Seamarq Hotel in Gangneung.

Delegates will have the opportunity to meet with OBS and Pyeongchang 2018 officials tomorrow when the World Broadcasters Meeting concludes.

"For the past several years, the entire POCOG staff including myself has done the utmost to transform Pyeongchang into a world-class winter sports capital," Pyeongchang 2018 President Lee Hee-beom said. 

"The broadcasters attending the World Broadcasters Meeting can witness the tangible results of our efforts. 

"As we are waiting for the magic of the Olympic Games to take place in Pyeongchang, I’m sure the broadcasters will bring together those moving moments to the television viewers around the world."

Non-competition venues were raised as one of the concerns of the International Olympic Committee last year, although they fully expect facilities such as the International Broadcast Centre to be ready in time for the Olympic Games, which run from February 9 to 25.
