Production firm Sunset+Vine have been confirmed as the official host broadcaster for the 2017 Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Championships being held in Glasgow.

A deal has been struck between the company and Badminton Scotland for the tournament scheduled to take place between August 21 and 27 at the Emirates Arena.

The announcement came during the Yonex All England Championships currently taking place in Birmingham, an event which the company have been broadcasters for over the last 15 years.

"Sunset+Vine has a large sporting portfolio, and a long association with the All England,"said Badminton Scotland chief executive Anne Smillie.

"We are looking forward to bringing their expertise in outside broadcasts to our World Championships."

Smillie added: "They have a great reputation in the television industry and are used to working on major sporting events so we are confident we have made the best possible choice.

"We want the excitement and drama of the Championships to be seen all over the world by those badminton fans who can’t be in Glasgow."

Sunset+Vine also have experience of covering badminton as part of their host broadcaster deal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

They have also helped produce Channel 4's coverage of the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
