Armenia has been confirmed as the latest member nation of the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF).

It was announced during the sport’s governing body’s Congress meeting that they had accepted an application from the Armenian National Frisbee Federation (ANFF).

This means the WFDF now has 72 member associations from 70 countries.

“We are pleased to welcome Armenia into the WFDF family,” said WFDF President Robert Rauch.

“Their admission as national member number 70 marks a milestone in the programme we started four years ago to work with loosely organised flying disc players in countries around the world and support their efforts to institutionalise their governance and pursue membership in the WFDF.”

Rauch added that another four new members nations are set to be ratified over the next month.

In a joint statement, Narine Melikyan and Seryoia Hayrapetyan, the secretary and President of ANFF respectively, said it was an honour to be added to the WFDF.

“This will motivate us to continue growing in the region and participating in new events,” they said.

“We are thankful to the staff of WFDF and especially to Volker Bernardi for support and guidance.”
