Lanzer led a Polish one-two at the Hotel Eger and Park today after defeating his compatriot Marek Trykacz.

The Polish pair both produced a best lift of 175kg, but Lanzer edged first place because of his lower body weight, forcing Trykacz into second.

Oliver Francis Brown of Great Britain completed the top three with his best attempt of 155kg.

In today's second men's category, Nathaniel Wilding of Britain clinched the title in the up to 72kg competition.

The 24-year-old won by a comfortable margin of 17kg after easing to victory with a best lift of 167kg.

Matteo Cattini finished well behind in second on 150kg while Jose David Coronel of Argentina rounded out the podium on 145kg.

There was also action in two women's competitions today.

Amalia Perez Vazquez won the up to 61kg event with a best lift of 122kg.

She was followed onto the podium by South American rival Mariana D'Andrea of Brazil, who scored 107kg.

Algeria's Naima Saidi completed the top three with an attempt of 75kg.

In today's fourth category, there was a victory for Gihan Abdelaziz in the up to 67kg event.

The Egyptian produced three successful lifts with a best mark of 110kg.

Terezinha Santos of Brazil took second on 94kg while the bronze medal was won by Poland's Paulina Puziak Przywecka, who lifted 88kg.

The competition is the penultimate major event before this year's World Championships in Mexico City.

The Mexico City World Championships will be held between September 30 and October 6.
