The logo for the 2018 Asian Para Games in Indonesia's capital Jakarta has been unveiled in Tokyo.

The emblem was revealed during the Asian Paralympic Committee's (APC) Executive Board meeting, where preparations for the 2020 Paralympic Games in the Japanese capital were also on the agenda.

According to organisers, the logo "reflects the diversity of the Games".

Action in Jakarta will take place between October 8 and 16, following the Asian Games which will be shared by the capital city and Palembang.

APC officials discussed issues including venue accessibility, led by Organising Committee chairman Raja Sapta Oktohari.

Gatot S Dewa Broto, Indonesia's Secretary to the Minister for Youth and Sports, also attended.

The Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games were addressed with presentations from the Organising Committee and the Japan Paralympic Committee.

Delegates toured venues including the Yoyogi Stadium, where wheelchair rugby will be held, and table tennis arena the National Gymnasium. 

They also visited the site of the under-construction National Stadium where ceremonies and athletics will take place.

An update was also heard on this year's Asian Youth Para Games, which the United Arab Emirates will host in Dubai in December.

"This has been an excellent and productive two days of meetings," said APC President Majid Rashed

"Thanks to our colleagues at the Japan Paralympic Committee who have made us so welcome. 

"We have been impressed and inspired by what we’ve seen and heard about Tokyo 2020 and are more determined than ever that our whole region benefits."
