Kia Nurse is among the names in the Canadian squad looking to defend their International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Women’s AmeriCup title in Argentina.

Competition in the tournament is scheduled to begin tomorrow, with all matches taking place at the Estadio Obras Sanitarias in Buenos Aires.

Action is due to continue until August 13 when the final is played.

Canada claimed the title in 2015 by defeating Cuba 82-66 in the final on home soil in Edmonton with Nurse, who scored 20 points in that match, being named as the tournament’s most valuable player.

The point guard has again been included in Canada’s squad which will line-up in Group B.

Group A will see the host nation face the US Virgin Islands, Brazil, Venezuela and Colombia.

The top two teams from both groups will progress to the semi-finals.

There will also be places at the 2018 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup in Spain up for grabs during the tournament.

The teams who finish third in the groups will join the semi-finalists as qualifiers for the World Cup.
