Liu Jiayu claimed a home victory on a future Olympic course at the International Ski Federation Snowboard Halfpipe World Cup in China today.

The 2009 world champion scored 92.75 points in taking victory on the Secret Garden superpipe close to Beijing. 

Sena Tomita of Japan finished second on 87.00.

Cai Xuetong took Chinese bronze with 82.25.

It came at the resort due to host halfpipe competitions at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.

Japan enjoyed far greater success in the corresponding men's competition. 

Ayumu Hirano triumphed with a score of 97.75.

Raibu Katayama finished second with 90.75 as Yuto Totsuka completed the clean sweep in third with 90.50.

Nikita Avtaneev of Russia was the first non-Japanese competitor, with 82.00 for fifth place.

Zhang Yiwei was the leading home entrant after scoring only 69.75 for 13th.

Freestyle halfpipe finals are scheduled for tomorrow.
