The Para-Bobsleigh World Cup season will continue from tomorrow with two races in Austrian city Innsbruck.

The first race will be followed by a second on Friday (January 19) which will also double as the European Championships.

After four World Cups this season, Canada's defending overall champion Lonnie Bissonnette again leads the standings.

This is despite him not winning a race so far, after coming second and fourth in Canadian city Calgary and second and third in Lake Placid in the United States.

Bissonnette has 412 points at the top of the leaderboard.

His closest rivals are Britain's Corie Mapp and Switzerland's Christopher Stewart who share second place with 402 points and will be a big threat in the European Championships.

Both men shared victories over the two legs in Lake Placid.

Latvia's Annija Krumina, in fourth place overall with 368 points and a winner in Calgary, could also be a threat when action begins in Innsbruck.

Bobsleigh was provisionally accepted for the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic programme in September 2016.

An application for skeleton to be included was not successful though, due to the sport not fulfilling a number of the criteria needed.

No Para-skeleton World Cup is being held this season.
