Sliders will contest two races at the German track, beginning tomorrow and concluding on Friday (January 26).

Mapp took over the lead from defending champion Lonnie Bissonnette of Canada at the last stop on the circuit in Austrian city Innsbruck last weekend.

However, the race to win the World Cup crown in the seated event is extremely tight with just 106 points separating the top five.

With 120 points granted for a victory there is all to race for in Oberhof.

Mapp, who was first and second in Innsbruck, has 632 points with Bissonnette now second on 610.

Latvia's Alvils Brants, who won the second race in Innsbruck which doubled as the European Championships, is third on 606.

Christopher Stewart of Switzerland and Annija Krumina of Lativa follow with 596 and 526 points respectively.

After the action in Oberhof, the World Cup season will conclude with two races in St Moritz in Switzerland on February 1 and 2.

Sliders will then contest the World Championships in Lillehammer in Norway between March 10 and 11.

Bobsleigh was provisionally accepted for the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic programme in September 2016.

An application for skeleton to be included was not successful though, due to the sport not fulfilling a number of the criteria needed.

No Para-skeleton World Cup is being held this season.
