Russian athletes competing as neutrals enjoyed a successful day in the biathlon events at the World Para Nordic Skiing World Cup with four victories in Oberried.

Anna Milenina triumphed in the women's standing sprint race in a time of 18min 56.3sec as she beat compatriot Ekaterina Rumyantsseva in Germany.

Norway's Vilde Nilsen came through to take the bronze medal on the opening day of biathlon competition at the event.

Mikhalina Lysova, also participating as a neutral athlete due to the suspension of the Russian Paralympic Committee following the doping scandal in the country, won the women's visually impaired sprint race in 19:32.1.

Lysova, guided by Alexey Ivanov, finished in front of team-mate Elena Remizova and guide Andrei Tokarev.

Germany's Clara Klug took bronze along with guide Martin Hartl.

Ivan Golubkov delivered the third win for the neutral team in the men's sitting sprint, clocking 21.08.2 to clinch a dominant victory.

Ukrainian Taras Rad was second, while the bronze medal went to Golubkov's compatriot Aleksandr Davidovich.

Stanislav Chokhlaev, guided by Oleg Kolodiichukm, then led home another one-two for the neutral squad as he topped the podium in the men's visually impaired sprint in 18:56.3.

Nikolai Polukhin and guide Eduard Berezin claimed silver and bronze was sealed by Anatolii Kovalevskyi of Ukraine.

Kovalevskyi's team-mate Ihor Reptyukh ensured Ukraine ended the day with a gold medal as he won the men's standing sprint in 18:20.6.

Germany's Mark Arendz and neutral athlete Vitalli Malyshev clinched silver and bronze respectively.

In the other event held today, Oksana Masters of the United States beat compatriot Kendall Gretsch to take gold in the women's sitting sprint.

Masters clocked a time of 20:46.1 to comfortably oust her fellow American athlete, while neutral athlete Nadezhda Fedorova did enough for bronze.
