The Saint Lucia Olympic Committee (SLOC) has provided funding for four of the country's boxers who have attended a one-month preparation camp in Trinidad and Tobago.

Nathan Ferrari, Lyndell Marcellin, Marvin Anthony and Kareem Boyce are all taking part in the camp as they eye the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia in April.

An invitation was handed to the quartet by the President of the Trinidad and Tobago Boxing Association, Cecil Forde.

SLOC paid for their air travel, accommodation costs and meals.

Boxers from Anguilla, Barbados and Guyana also attended the training camp.

Saint Lucia sent four boxers to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games but none advanced past their first round matches.

Fortuna Belrose was re-elected as SLOC President in April last year.

She ran unopposed for the role and is serving a four-year term.

Five athletes represented the country at the Rio 2016 Olympics, including two in the women's high jump competition.

Levern Spencer, the country's flagbearer at the past three Olympics, finished in sixth place with her team-mate Jeanelle Scheper ending 25th.

Sailor Stephanie Devaux-Lovell finished 29th in the women's laser radial competition, while swimmer Jordan Augier and men's 100 metre sprinter Jahvid Best failed to advance from their heats.
