The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) have said that the country is ready to host the annual School Mini Olympics in March.

BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar claimed the governing body, with assistance from the Education Ministry, "will leave no stone unturned" in their organisation of the upcoming event, which is held annually to help develop sport in Bahrain.

He added that the event is designed to discover promising athletes in various sports, promote Olympic values, encourage exercise among young people and to expand sports in a suitable environment.

During the meeting, Askar also decided on the formation of various Committees for this year's Mini Olympics.

These include the Technical Committee, Medical Support Committee, Information Technology Committee, Media Committee, Sports Facilities, Finance Committee, Services Committee and Activities Support Committee.
