Norway's Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo and Heidi Weng both have healthy leads heading into the World Cup Final in the Swedish resort but there are 200 bonus points available for being the best skier across the three races in Falun.

Fifty points are also available for each individual victory, so Klaebo's 224-point lead over Switzerland's Dario Cologna is not safe.

Klaebo, who won three Olympic gold medals at Pyeongchang 2018 last month, has 1,338 points while Cologna, a four-time Olympic champion, has 1,114.

Norway's Martin Johnsrud Sundby is also in the frame as he sits third on 1,104 while bidding to win the overall World Cup crown for the fourth time and the third in a row.

Defending overall champion Weng has a more slender advantage in the women's race as she leads compatriot Ingvild Flugsad Østberg by 153 points, 1,424 to 1,271.

American Jessica Diggins has 1,164 so is 260 points behind.

Klaebo and Weng have already tasted victory this season as they have wrapped up the men's sprint and women's distance crowns respectively.

The men's distance and women's sprint crystal globes still remain up for grabs, however.

In the former, Cologna leads Sundby by 30 points with 100 points still available.

Norway's Maiken Caspersen Falla has a 48-point lead over Stina Nilsson of Sweden in the women's sprint, and has all-but sealed success with just 50 points to race for.

Action in Falun begins tomorrow with freestyle sprints for both men and women.

On Saturday (March 17), classic mass start races will be held for men over 15 kilometres and women over 10km.

Freestyle pursuit races will end competition on Sunday (March 18) with the men tackling 15km and the women 10km.
