Ukraine followed up their double gold medal-winning performance from yesterday by winning another two titles on day two of the World Shooting Para Grand Prix in Szczecin.

Iryna Shchetnik secured Ukraine's first title of the day thanks to her victory in the R2 10 metre air rifle standing women SH1 competition.

Shchetnik, winner of the slver medal in the R3 10 metre air rifle prone mixed SH1 event, shot for a final total of 245.7 points in her nine attempts at the target, giving her a grand total of 623.0.

This was enough to see off competition from France's Delphine Fischer, who could only score a final total of 224.8 points in her nine shots and had to settle for the silver medal.

Fischer's performances throughout the day gave her a grand total of 600.0 points.

The bronze medal went to Jolanta Szulc of host country Poland after she shot for a final total of 203.5 points in her eight attempts, giving her a total of 568.0.

Vitalii Plakushchyi, who made his international debut in Szczecin in 2015, secured Ukraine’s second gold medal of the day with an excellent performance in the final of the R4 10m air rifle standing mixed SH2 competition.

The 37-year-old scored a final total of 252.6 points in his nine shots, giving him a total of 619.0.

Vasyl Kovalchuk, a Paralympic gold medallist at London 2012, made it a Ukrainian one-two with a final total of 250.1 points in his nine attempts.

Although the two-time Paralympian was the better performer throughout the day with a total of 628.0 points, his performance in the final could not match that of his compatriot.

Italy's Andrea Liverani claimed the bronze medal with a final total of 229.0 points in his eight shots.

As was the case with Kovalchuk, the Italian had a better total score than Plakushchyi with 622.0 points, but he underperformed in the final.

The competition, the athletes' last chance to qualify for next month's World Championships in Cheongju in South Korea, is due to continue tomorrow with titles to be decided in the P1 10m air pistol men SH1 and R1 10m air rifle standing men SH1 events.
