Among those represented at the two-day event was the Austrian Ski Federation and its Seefeld Local Organising Committee as well as the FIS and media and commercial rights holders, Infront Sports and Media.

It came after a busy winter in Seefeld that included World Cup races in both cross-country skiing and Nordic combined in addition to the traditional Four Hills stop in Innsbruck, which will host the ski jumping competitions at the 2019 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships.

Led by Austrian Ski Federation secretary general Klaus Leistner, the major updates from Seefeld 2019 included upgrades and improvements to the sport and venue infrastructure.

Seefeld Mayor Werner Friesser, who is specifically responsible for sport in the Local Organising Committee, gave a detailed report about the courses for cross-country skiing and Nordic combined.

Additionally, he provided an update on the Austrian Railways project, which is underway to re-develop the train station.

The gathering coincided with the two-day world broadcasters’ meeting, which attracted more than 50 organisations.

Infront, together with its host broadcaster ORF, laid out detailed plans for the broadcast operation.

Venue plans were also presented, including the competition schedule from the broadcasters’ perspective.

The group members visited the venues on a detailed tour and discussed various camera positions and logistics.

They then travelled to the Seefeld competition venues, medal plaza, the site of the International Broadcast Centre and the Bergisel Ski Jump hill in Innsbruck.

All broadcasters also scheduled individual unilateral meetings with either Infront or ORF to address their specific needs and questions.

In another development, Seefeld 2019 has announced the launch of its official website, www.seefeld 2019.com, and presented a wide range of ticket packages.

So far, more than 600 people have signed up to be a volunteer at the World Championships, with 60 per cent coming from outside Austria.

The 2019 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships are due to take place from February 20 to March 3.

The final competition is traditionally planned as bring the men’s 50 kilometres cross-country race.

The next Coordination Group meeting will be the last inspection.

It is scheduled to held later this year and will see the final preparations for the World Championships reviewed.
