A lack of wind has again caused the cancellation of the opening races in the inaugural Nacra 15 World Championships at the Barcelona International Sailing Centre.

Like yesterday, four back-to-back races scheduled from midday onwards could not be held.

It meant the Nacra 15 fleet was held ashore once more.

A Facebook post from the Nacra15 Class Association read: "We try again tomorrow!!"

A total of 60 teams from 18 countries have gathered for these Championships, due to take place until Friday (April 27) and offer the chance to qualify for this year’s Summer Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires.

Practice racing took place at the venue on Sunday (April 22) in ideal conditions, but the competitors will have to wait a little longer before taking to the water in the discipline that now forms the youth multi-hull option.

Seven places for Buenos Aires 2018 are on offer in Barcelona to countries which have not already qualified through continental events.

A total of 19 races are scheduled.
