The French Tennis Federation have announced that home duo Frederic Cattaneo and Charlotte Famin have been given wildcard entries for this year's wheelchair events at the French Open.

World number 15 Cattaneo will make his second appearance at the Grand Slam tournament since his debut in 2012, when he won the men's doubles title alongside Japan's Shingo Kunieda.

Famin, the world number 12, who was ranked ninth in the women's singles at the cut-off point, will be making her second wildcard appearance at the tournament having done so on her debut in 2014 when she reached the last four.

The announcement of the wildcard places means the full line-up of the 16 players who will compete at Roland Garros has now been confirmed.

The top seven ranked men's and women's singles players at the entry cut-off of April 16, plus the wildcards, will contest the second Grand Slam of the year on the clay in Paris.

Men's and women's world number ones Alfie Hewett of Great Britain and Japan's Yui Kamiji are the headline names in the competition this year.

Hewett is one of four previous men's singles champions in this year's field alongside Gustavo Fernandez of Argentina, Kunieda and Stephane Houdet of France.

Two-time champion Kamiji is one of three previous women's singles champions competing at Roland Garros along with Sabine Ellerbrock of Germany and Marjolein Buis of The Netherlands.

The remaining players in the men's draw are Hewett's compatriot Gordon Reid, France's Nicolas Peifer and Sweden's Stefan Olsson.

The women's line-up is completed by Dutch duo Diede de Groot and Aniek van Koot, Germany's Katharina Kruger and Kgothatso Montjane of South Africa.

The wheelchair events at the French Open will take place from June 7 to 9.
