Australia's Matt Hall will aim to secure a second straight victory when Chiba hosts the latest leg of the Red Bull Air Race World Championship this weekend.

Hall arrives in the Japanese city having triumphed at the second event of the series in Cannes in April.

It was the Australian pilot's first win since he started racing in the Edge 540 in 2016 and Hall claims he is confident of recording another success.

Yoshi Muroya of Japan is likely to be among the main challengers having won the last two editions of the Chiba leg.

Muroya is targeting a third consecutive win in his home country and Hall is expecting the Japanese pilot to be there or there abouts come the end of the competition.

"Yoshi's going to have a huge amount of pressure on him as the reigning champ and winning the last two races at home, so he's got everything to lose," Hall told redbull.com

"We're going in on a high after Cannes but with our heads square on our shoulders, we're not going in there thinking we're just going to win every race from here.

"We know that everyone is going to be scared when they're flying against us, and we're going to try to capitalise on that by being smooth and clean.

"We might not be the fastest on the track on every run, but we're not going to make mistakes.

"You're going to have to be fast and clean to beat us, which is something most of the guys on the track can't do."

Competition begins tomorrow and concludes on Sunday (May 27), before the World Championship resumes in Budapest on June 23 and 24.
