Defending men's champions Brazil made it six victories from six at the Goalball World Championships in Sweden.

The world number one side and Paralympic bronze medallists top Pool B at the Baltiska Hallen venue in Malmö after today's 10-0 win over Egypt.

Germany are their nearest challengers in the eight-team group with the top four all reaching the quarter finals.

They have won five matches and lost one and saw off Japan 7-4 today.

Iran sit third and edged Czech Republic 9-8 today while fourth place United States, the World Championship bronze medallists last time and the Paralympic silver medallists, beat Canada 8-2 and Egypt 13-3 as they played twice.

In Pool A, Belgium lead the way with six wins from as many games.

They beat Turkey 10-4 today to sit in front of reigning Paralympic gold medallists Lithuania who won twice today, 15-6 against Sweden and 16-9 over China.

The Swedes are now third after they also beat Algeria 8-1 and the Chinese sit fourth.

In other matches Argentina beat Australia 9-3.

In Pool D of the women's event, Brazil have won four games from four and beat defending champions the US 3-1.

The Americans, in third, then also lost 5-2 to Canada who sit second.

Algeria moved fourth with two wins today, 4-3 over Greece and 8-6 against China.

Russia lead Pool C with a record of four wins and one draw after 10-0 and 11-1 wins over Sweden and Australia respectively today.

Paralympic champions Turkey beat Japan 5-0 to lie second.
