Russia beat Spain 2-0 today to claim their first-ever Women’s Euro Beach Soccer Cup title in Nazaré in Portugal.

Marina Fedorova and Anna Cherniakova scored the goals in the third and last period of the final at the Estádio do Viveiro on Praia de Nazaré.

Russia become the third different winner of the event in as many editions.

Spain triumphed in 2016, while England came into this year’s tournament as the defending champions having prevailed in 2017.

The third-place play-off was also held today with Switzerland defeating England 6-3 in a reverse of last year's final.

Czech Republic overcame The Netherlands 2-1 after extra time in the fifth-place play-off.

Russia's Anastasiia Gorshkova finished as the top scorer with five goals.

The event was organised by Beach Soccer Worldwide.
